I am pleased to announce that Idlewild will be open two additional weekends in September for our NEW Family Oktoberfest! I am very excited about this event and can’t wait for giant pretzels, German platters and authentic German song and dance. More details will be coming in the next few months, but I can tell you it is going to be very fun. Back-to-Back Golden Tickets for Best Kids’ Park in the World

Just like the ’91 and ’92 Pittsburgh Penguins we have gone back to back! Being Named Best Kids’ Park in the world feels just as it good last year and we have to thank all of our fans, the enthusiast groups and our staff for helping make it a reality. You really help make this the best job in the world, we are all kid’s at heart. I am going to celebrate with some serious Ice Cream eating… just like a kid would.

LIGONIER, PA – September 17, 2011 – Today, at its Golden Ticket ceremony held in Santa Claus, Indiana, Amusement Today Magazine recognized Pennsylvania’s Idlewild & SoakZone  as the ‘Best Children’s Park in the World’ for the second consecutive year.

“The Golden Tickets are awarded based on a poll of experienced and well-traveled amusement park fans worldwide,” explained Gary Slade, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Amusement Today.  “Since the inception of the best children’s park category in 2004, Idlewild & SoakZone placed in the top two, and placed first in 2010.  It’s a testament to Idlewild & SoakZone’s perseverance in providing a unique family- friendly entertainment value in such a beautiful park setting.”

The Marvel Comics Super Heroes Are Here!!!

It is time to meet  Spider-man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man are all here! Check out some cool photos from the event an remember there is still time to come meet them. Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk will appear at the Hillside Theatre from Noon – 2:30 PM daily, Captain America and Iron Man will appear from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM through Friday July 22.

Summer is officially here! We are now open daily!

I spent sometime this morning exploring the park to bring you photos of all that is new. Today was the first day for Cirque Extreme and I grabbed some shots of it along with the Human Cannon and Wowabunga Family Wavepool while I was at it.
